Eggerhof Chronicle

In 1892 our farm was bought by Konrad Fresacher called the "Vogeibauern" from Georg Neumayer from Piesendorf. Konrad Fresacher was married to Maria Breitfuß, who unfortunately died very young. The couple had five children: Peter, Konrad, Maria, Traudl and Georg.

In 1919 Peter Fresacher inherited the farm and Konrad Fresacher the Eggeralm. Konrad Fresacher Senior married again - Anna Pfeffer from Hinterglemm. However, the two had no more children. In the same year, Peter Fresacher married Anna Meier ("Thomanbäuerin"). They had 14 children, two of whom unfortunately died shortly after birth: Zensi, Maria, Katharina, Frieda, Anna, Franz, Josef, Peter, Konrad, Fritz, Ferdinand, Rupert, Victoria and Erna. Five sons had to go to war. Unfortunately, Peter and Konrad never returned home.

In 1960, our grandfather Franz Xaver Fresacher took over the Eggerhof. He married the "Unterlettltochter" Katharina Schweiger from Saalfelden. The couple had four children: Franz Johann, Peter, Elisabeth and Veronika; Katharina and Franz modernised the farm, bought new machinery and converted the Eggerhof. So for the first time guests were welcome.

The first guests arrived in 1963, some of whom are still regular guests at our hotel. 

In 1969, the "Rauchkuchl" became a modern "show-kitchen" for those days. 

In 1973 the cellar was extended and rebuilt.

In 1975 more guest rooms were added.

In 1984 the stable was rebuilt.

In 1990 Franz Johann took over the Eggerhof.

In 1992, two apartments and further guest rooms were added.

In 1998 the farm was extensively renovated, and new guest rooms were added.

In 1998 Franz Johann and Maria got married. Our children: Michaela, Gabriel, Claudia and Franz-Josef; Our grandchildren: Ilvie, Lionel, Simon, Benedict, Leander and Elias

In 2001 we got a new reception, a new kitchen and a new bar.

In 2003/2004 we converted the "Hintereggstall" - an old cowshed - into a rustic alpine hut.

In 2005/2006 the farmhouse became a modern hotel. The "Landhaus" was added, and the wellness area was enlarged and modernised.

In 2013, we started building a bypass road for our Eggerhof. The construction work was completed in 2015. The entire farm area is now traffic-free.

In 2017 we built our new building "Forsthaus" with family and double rooms. The restaurant was extended with a winter garden and the buffet area was modernised with a front cooking station.
